You are most welcome to join us on Sunday 14th along the Taff Trial.
Ideal for children its a relatively safe route with very little on the road.

You should bring your helmets though.

The more the merrier.

You can meet us either at Brecon, approximately 48mile ride or just south of Merthyr Tydfil, approximately 20mile ride into Cardiff Bay.

In Brecon we are meeting at 10am outside the Theatre Brycheiniog, Canal Wharf, Brecon, LD3 7EW.

There is a moderately steep climb out of Brecon. Five miles and 1015ft (310m) from the Monmouthshire & Brecon Canal at Llanfranach up to Tal Fechan Forest. The rest of the route is easy!

Possibly a better alternative would be to meet us at 12.00 at Pontygwaith Farm, Post Code CF46 5PD Telephone for anyone lost and needing directions is 01443 411137, ask for Ray.

It is quite difficult to find the farm unless you follow the directions exactly.

Turn off the A470 North, take the third exit off the roundabout at Abercynon. Head towards Treharris on the A4054. Go through Edwardsville; a little over 1/2 mile after Edwardsville on the A4054 there is a straight section and bus shelter hidden on the left.   There is a very sharp left turn just after the bus shelter with a blue sign saying "Weak Bridge".

The turn is too sharp to take heading North so you need to go straight on turn round go back on yourself.

Once you have taken this turn there is a very narrow steep lane going down past some houses.

Go right down to the bottom until you see the river and then you will see the farm on the left which is the last house.

Go beyond the farm and there is a field on the left where you can park.
The farm does tea and coffee and we can all if its a nice day have a picnic in the field.

Please bring your own picnic.

We have arranged with Ray the owner and host that as he does not charge for the tea and coffee we will make a contribution towards his charity.

From Brecon or Pontygwaith Farm, anyone who wants to ride with us can.   We will hopefully have T Shirts at both venues which we will be selling at reasonable prices with all proceeds going to the charity.

We will also be stopping at Howells School, Cardiff Road, LLandaff to pick up an other riders who want to join us there. Its only 5 miles from there to Cardiff Bay! We expect to reach Howells School at around 3 or 4 pm.

As with all the "join us" options it would be really helpful if you let us know that you plan to join us so that we can co-ordinate meet times etc.

We plan to finish at the Oval Basin in Cardiff Bay. The Oval Basin is outside the Millenium Centre in Cardiff Bay. Wales Millennium Centre, Bute Place, Cardiff Bay, CF10 5AL.
The small print:

"All participants take part in this ride at their own risk"
Transport Options:
Cardiff Bus run a service where they will take you & your bike from Cardiff to Brecon. The bus leaves at 9am on Sunday morning. Go to http://www.tafftrail.org.uk/news.html for more information.

Our support vehicles will, depending on demand, pick up from the Oval Basin at 8:30am and transport up to 10 people & bikes to Brecon. They will also return to the Oval Basin at 11:30 to pick up any other riders who only want to do the shorter ride.

If there is greater demand GG Carriages can be chartered to pick up and transport up to 16 riders & bikes.

As with all things in life there is a cost attached to each of these options!

If you want to join us on the last day & need help with transport please contact Mark on mark@loft-co.com or via this website so that we can get an idea about numbers and confirm arrangements with you.
